The 1980's and 1990's were a great time for toy collections! Although growing up we didn't typically collect full sets of any particular toy, we did have a variety of different collections. We were always very careful with our things, and so most of them are still in very good condition to this day.
I have always loved dolls, figures, and toys and am glad that we held onto all of the ones from our childhood. It is fun to look through them every once in awhile and remember all the fun we had playing with them. In recent years, I have really enjoyed looking online at sites that have lots of information on these types of things (Ghost of the Doll is a fantastic resource). It is fun to identify what toys I have and to look through other peoples collections. However, it is kind of unsettling to find out that toys from the 80's and 90's are commonly referred to as 'vintage' or 'retro'!
I just love all the cute little accessories and everything that went along with Precious Places, Smooshies, Wish World Kids, and other toys like that. We also remember (and owned) Polly Pocket when she actually could fit in your pocket! There is a certain charm about toys and dolls from this decade. I am not sure if it is just nostalgia on my part (it probably is), but it just doesn't seem like they make toys like this anymore.
