Johnny's Characters
|
Since we are fans of pretty much everything that Johnny has done acting in, we decided to include a list of some of our favorite characters that he has done. Be careful though, there are SPOILERS for those who have not finished the games/shows that are listed here.

Vash the Stampede - Trigun
Vash the Stampede was a very interesting character. For one thing, he was 131 years old, and for another, he was one of the very first people to exist on the planet Gunsmoke. He was a very sensitive and caring man who loved humans and valued life very much. Vash made it is duty to 'take care of' his evil brother Knives, which he was able to do in the finale, in his own way. Johnny did an excellent job voicing Vash, which was one of the reasons we love the show so much. He brought a lot of emotion into the later episodes which called for that, and lots of fun and energy into the early ones where Vash acted like a clown.

Claus Valca - Last Exile
Claus Valca was a young vanship pilot who lived with his best friend, Lavie Head in the small village of Norkia. The only thing that he wanted to do in life was fly the vanship that his and Lavie's fathers had flown to the Grand Stream. He was content with his life until they found themselves making a delivery to the great airship, the Silvana, in the middle of war-torn skies. He felt at home on the Silvana and wanted to remain there so he could protect the skies and his friends. Johnny did a great job with Claus' voice, making him sound young and curious, but making him sound strong and secure when he is defending his friends and values against others. |

Kiba - Wolf's Rain
Kiba was a wolf without a pack trying to make his way to Paradise, a place of supreme happiness that wolves hold the key to opening. The people of his world thought that wolves were extinct because they could put a spell over humans to make them appear to be humans as well. Kiba had a lot of honor though, and didn't want to disguise himself until there was no other choice. Even when Kiba found other wolves to travel with to Paradise, he was still a loner who was very quiet and never deterred from his goal. Kiba didn't care about anything other than getting to Paradise and Cheza, a girl called the Flower Maiden, who he had taken an extreme liking to. (He thought it was his duty to protect her). Johnny made Kiba sound just as you would expect him to: strong, secure in his feelings, and very determined. |

Adam Park - Power Rangers
Adam Park replaced the original Black Ranger, Zack, in the middle of season 2. Johnny was on the show the third longest, only behind Jason David Frank and David Yost. (He was on the show throughout Mighty Morphin, Zeo, and Turbo). Adam was a very talented martial artist who was pretty shy and quiet. Johnny did a very good job on the show and was also in both of the Power Ranger movies "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" and "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie". This proves that not only does he have a great voice, but he is great at on-screen acting as well. And not only is Johnny a fantastic actor, but he is an extremely talented martial artist! |

Mike Kamishiro - Please Twins
Mike Kamishiro was the lead character in the "Please Twins" anime. He was a mild mannered programmer, orphan, and high school student, who lived on his own. That was until two girls came into his life and changed it forever. Miina and Karen both had the same picture that Mike had, that showed a girl and boy playing in a kiddie pool, whom they all assumed were twins. Mike let both girls move in with him until they could figure out which girl was his twin and which was the stranger. This show was very light hearted and funny (although very dirty at parts!) and we enjoyed it very much. Johnny did a great job portraying Mike's emotions, which must have been difficult because Mike was torn between lusting after the girls to knowing he shouldn't because one was possibly his sister. |

Haruto Sakaki - Witch Hunter Robin
Haruto Sakaki was a witch hunter in this series who was quite over his head in his assignments. He was very earnest in his attempts to do a good job, but his eagerness also led to carelessness, which sometimes caused problems during the group's missions. This is the only anime we have seen that has had Johnny's voice in it without him being the lead character, which was a strange change. Haruto was not in the show that much, but he was a very interesting character who we liked. Johnny did a great job on this voice too, as if it were possible for him to do otherwise. (He is so talented!) |

Rion Steiner - Galerians: Ash
Rion Steiner was a character in the video game "Galerians" and it's sequel "Galerians: Ash", although Johnny only voiced him in the second game. Rion was basically a young man who was a Galerian, which meant that he was created as a member of a new race created by a computer who wanted to be ruler over something. Rion died in the end of the first game and was brought back to life in the second one to do battle against the last evil Galerian, Ash. Rion was quiet and serious, who really wasn't one for small talk. Johnny's voice was a refreshing change after the appalling job that was done with Rion's voice in the first one. |

Josh - Devon's Ghost: Legend of the Bloody Boy
In this movie, Johnny played a high school student named Josh. He grew up in a small town of Canyon City where a young boy was brutally murdered by his parents. Josh and his friends, Genesis and Symphony, never believed that Devon (the young boy) was actually killed though. They thought that they saw him in the woods when they were children. In the movie, Devon comes back and begins murdering all the people in the town and it's up to Josh and Symphony to stop him before he kills them too. Johnny did an excellent job acting and directing the movie, and it was great to see that he still gets to put his martial arts to good use. |
|
Max Fastlane - Fast Max
Fast Max is a pilot for a children's movie. Johnny stars in this movie as Max Fastlane, a young man who dreams of racing cars like his father did. Max's parents mysteriously disappeared when he was a child and he was raised by his uncle who taught him martial arts. In the pilot, he is approached a young woman who asks him to participate in virtual intergalactic scavenger hunts. He is not quite sure what it is all about and is reluctant to join. Max decides not to do it and leaves, but does not feel right about his decision. Johnny did a good job, as always, and it was really great to see him in a live action role again. |

Billy Ray Lee - Extreme Heist
Extreme Heist was a very good movie and we especially enjoyed it not only because Johnny was in it, but his former Power Rangers co-star Jason Narvy (Skull) was too. It was nice to see them pair up as a team in this movie, because they have an interesting dynamic. The two of them played two small time crooks who accidentally happened upon a book of access codes that could be worth millions. This movie showcased Johnny's most impressive stunt work, and also let him play a different type of character. He got to play the fun guy for once, while he usually plays the quieter type of character. |
