"It will be fine. I know it will. I'll be with him. Like I should be. Me and Rory together." - Amy Pond
Amy Pond and Rory Williams - The Girl Who Waited and The Boy Who Died Again and Again- are from the British tv series Doctor Who. They began their adventures throughout time and space with the Eleventh Doctor in the fifth season of the new series, when Amy ran away with the Doctor on the eve her wedding to Rory. She was having some pre-wedding jitters, and when her childhood "imaginary" friend came to whisk her away, promising amazing thrills and adventures, she jumped at the chance. She and The Doctor didn't take too long to go back for Rory, and from then on, the three became a little family on the TARDIS, facing everything together. While they may not have been the longest running companions of The Doctor in terms of number of episodes, the amount of years that they spent with him on the show was pretty impressive. Amy and Rory went through so many milestones, and lived through several alternate lives, while traveling with The Doctor, but the one thing that was a constant was their unwavering love for one another. Sure, Amy ran off with another man the night before their wedding, and there was that out of character and poorly written divorce at the beginning of season 7, but even in those moments, not even death could force them apart. Their relationship was such a nice addition to the show, giving way to richer storytelling opportuinites with The Doctor able to interact with a married couple rather than the single female companion that generally accompanied him.
In addition to the epic scale of their love story, the greatest thing about Amy and Rory was how devoted they were to one another. Amy was brash and hard to read sometimes in comparison to Rory wearing his love for her right on his sleeve, but her love for Rory ran deep to her core as well. Rory often thought that Amy felt more towards The Doctor than him, but he was proved wrong time and time again. For his part, Rory had been smitten with Amy since they were children, and he would do anything to ensure her well being. He protected her for 2000 years when she was locked inside of the Pandorica, and even though that reality was destroyed, he still remembered every second of it and would have done it again if he needed to. When Rory decided that killing himself would be the only way to stop the Weeping Angels from continuing their rampage of Manhattan, Amy climbed right up on that ledge with him without hesitation. She then sacrificed herself to the Angel's touch with only the slim chance that she would be reunited with her husband after he was sent back in time again.
Even though their adventures with the Doctor came to an abrupt end, Amy and Rory did get a happy ending after all. They may have been displaced in time back to the 1930's in New York (complete with a plot contrivance time lock that prevented The Doctor from ever seeing them again), but they got to spend the rest of their lives with each other and grow old by each other's side. Though not quite canon, there is an unfilmed scene stating that they adopted and raised a son together, and he was able to inform their families that they were ok, even if they couldn't ever see them again. Fate chose a life without the Doctor for them, but I'm sure their lives were still far from normal, and they got to spend it all together, which is all they ever really wanted, and all that I could hope for their future. Bittersweet, but a happy ending nonetheless.

The Doctor: "Be very sure, this could be the real world."
Amy: "It can't be. Rory isn't here. I didn't know...I didn't, I didn't, I honestly didn't until right now. I just want him."
The Doctor: "Okay."
Amy: "I love Rory and I never told him, and now he's gone."
Rory: "How did you know it was a dream, before you crashed the van? How did you know you wouldn't just die?"
Amy: "I didn't."
Rory: "Oh."
Amy: "Yeah."
Rory: "Oh!"
[he kisses her]
5x13: The Big Bang

Rory: "That's not what I'm worried about."
The Doctor: "She'll be fine. Nothing can get into this box."
Rory: "Well, you got in there."
The Doctor: "Well there's only one of me, I counted."
Rory: "This box needs a guard, I killed the last one."
The Doctor: "No, Rory, no don't even think about it!"
Rory: "She'll be all alone!"
The Doctor: "She won't feel it."
Rory: "Yeah, you bet she won't."
The Doctor: "Two thousand years Rory, you won't even sleep. You'll be conscious every second, it would drive you mad."
Rory: "Will she be safer if I stay? Look me in the eye and tell me she wouldn't be safer."
The Doctor: "Rory..."
Rory: "Answer me!"
The Doctor: "Yes...obviously."
Rory: "Then how could I leave her?"
6x02: Day of the Moon
Amy: "I love you. I know you think it's him. I know you think it ought to be him, but it's not. It's you and when I see you again I'm gonna tell you properly, just to see your stupid face. My life was so boring before you just dropped out of the sky...so just get your stupid face where I can see it, okay?"
Rory: "You called me stupid."
Amy: "I always call you stupid."
Rory: "No, but...my face."
[Amy opens Rory's hand to see the recording device there]
Rory: I wasn't sure who you were talking about, you know, me or..."
Amy: "Him?!"
Rory: "Well you did say dropped out of the sky."
Amy: "It's a figure of speech, moron."
[she kisses him]
Rory: "Thanks?"
Amy: "You're welcome."
6x07: A Good Man Goes to War
Amy: "I wish I could tell you that you'll be loved. That you'll be safe, and cared for, and protected, but this isn't a time for lies. What you are gonna be, Melody, is very very brave, but not as brave as they'll have to be, because there's someone coming. I don't know where he is, or what he's doing, but trust me, he's on his way. There's a man who's never gonna let us down, and not even an army can get in the way. He's the last of his kind. He looks young, but he's lived for hundreds and hundreds of years, and wherever they take you, Melody, however scared you are, I promise you...you will never be alone because this man is your father. He has a name, but the people of our world know him better as the Last Centurion."
6x10: The Girl Who Waited
Rory: "This is so wrong."
Older Amy: "I got old Rory, what did you think was going to happen?"
Rory: "Hey, I don't care that you got old, I care that we didn't grow old together."
Amy: "Why are we still here?"
Older Amy: "Because they leave you. Because they get in their TARDIS and they fly away."
Amy: "No, Rory wouldn't, not ever. Something must have stopped him."
Older Amy: "You did, or rather the older version of you, the me version of you. I refused to help them, I won't let them save myself."
Amy: "Why?"
Older Amy: "If you escape, then I was never trapped here. The last 36 years of my life rewrites and I cease to exist. That's why old me refused to help then. That's why I'm refusing to help now. And that's why you'll refuse to help when it's your turn, and nothing you can say will change that."
Amy: "Three words: what about Rory?"
Older Amy: "Rory...I called my robot Rory."
Amy: "You called your robot Rory? What, so you didn't call it The Doctor, or uh Biggles, our favorite cat?"
Older Amy: "Do you um...do you remember that summer when he came back to school with that ridiculous haircut?"
Amy: "He said he'd been in a rock band."
[both laugh]
Both Amy's: "Liar."
Older Amy: "And then he had to learn to play the guitar."
Amy: "So we wouldn't know he couldn't play it, um hm"
Older Amy: "All those boys chasing me, but it was only ever Rory. Why was that?"
Amy: "You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful, and then you actually talk to them, and five minutes later they're dull as a brick. But then there's other people, and you meet them and you think 'not bad, they're okay', and then you get to know them, and their face sort of becomes them, like their personality's written all over it, and they just they turn into something so beautiful..."
Both Amy's: "Rory's the most beautiful man I've ever met."
Amy: "Please, do it for him."
Older Amy: "You're asking me to defy destiny, causality, the nexus of time itself for a boy."
Amy: "You're Amy, he's Rory, and oh yes I am."
Older Amy: [to Rory] "I'm going to pull time apart for you."
[she kisses him]
Older Amy: [with her hand up to the TARDIS door window] "Rory? Please."
[Rory puts his hand against her's from inside the TARDIS]
Older Amy: "The look on your face when you carried her...me...her. When you carried her away...you used to look at me like that. I'd forgotten how much you loved me. I'd forgot ton how much I loved being her. Amy Pond in the TARDIS with Rory Williams."
Rory: [crying] "I'm sorry, I can't do this!"
[Rory goes to unlock the door]
Older Amy: "If you love me, don't let me in. Open that door, I will, I'll come in it, I don't wanna die. I won't bow out bravely I'll be kicking, screaming, fighting...to the end."
Rory: [whispering] "Amy...Amy I love you."
Older Amy: "I love you too. Don't let me in. Tell Amy, your Amy, I'm giving her the days, the days with you, the days to come."
Rory: "I'm so so sorry."
Older Amy: "The days I can't have...take them please. I'm giving you my days."
Rory: "I'm so so sorry."
[Rory lets go of the door lock]
7x01: Asylum of the Daleks
Rory: "Amy, basic fact of our relationship is that I love you more than you love me. Which today, is good news because it might just save both of our lives."
Amy: "How can you say that?"
Rory: "Two thousand years waiting for you outside a box, saying it because it's true, and since you know it's true, give me your arm. Amy!"
[she slaps him]
Amy: "Don't you dare say that to me. Don't you ever dare."
Rory: "Amy, you kicked me out!"
Amy: "You want kids. You have always wanted kids. Ever since you were a kid. And I can't have them."
Rory: "I know."
Amy: "Whatever they did to me at Demons Run, I can't ever give you children. I didn't kick you out, I gave you up."
Rory: "Amy, I don't..."
Amy: "Don't you dare talk to me about waiting outside a box because that is nothing, Rory, nothing compared to giving you up."
7x05: The Angels Take Manhattan
Rory: "Amy, please, if you love me, the trust me and push."
Amy: "I can't."
Rory: "You have to!"
Amy: "Could you? If it was me, could you do it?"
Rory: "To save you, I could do anything."
[Amy climbs up on to the ledge]
Amy: "Prove it."
Rory: "No, I can't take you, too."
Amy: "You said we'd come back to life. Money where your mouth is time."
Rory: "Amy, you..."
Amy: "Shut up. Together, or not at all."
