"I have already met the love of my life... and his name is Hernando." - Lito Rodriguez
Lito Rodriguez and Hernando Fuentes are from the Netflix series Sense8. A couple when the series began, their main source of conflict was that they were forced to keep their relationship hidden due to Lito's career as a action movie star in Mexico. Lito stepped out into the spotlight at premieres and events with various random women on his arm, but always came back to Hernando at the end of the day. Hernando was justifiably jealous that he couldn't be the one seen at Lito's side, but knew that coming out would be career suicide for the man he loved. For his part, Hernando was a lover of art and taught art studies to unmotivated college students. Lito fell in love with Hernando after hearing him talk about his passions for hours, and that love blossomed into a beautiful and well balanced relationship.
The main premise of the show is that Lito is one of eight individuals (Sensates) who are connected to each other's minds and souls. They can visit each other through their minds and even assist each other with their own individual talents and skills when necessary. Lito may have been linked to these other people, but he was arguably more connected and in tune with Hernando than anyone else in the world. The two shared an incredibly deep bond and their personalities balanced each other out so well. Lito was a drama queen, and Hernando's steady presence calmed him down. The two faced the world together as a team, and it was only when Lito's morals came into question that Hernando had to back away from their relationship for awhile. Their love for each other was never in question, but love alone couldn't make Hernando justify his lover's ethical behavior. Once Lito made right and helped their friend Daniella out of a bad situation, he was able to face Hernando again, and the two were able to talk out their issues like adults and quickly make amends with each other.
When Lito was forced out of the closet, instead of retreating back in, he decided to own up to who he was, even if it meant throwing away the career that he loved. Hernando was willing to stay at his side no matter what he decided to do, but seeing Lito give up everything to be true to himself made his love grow even stronger. There is no telling what is in store for the Sensates as the series progresses, but one thing that will always remain true is that Lito and Hernando are an amazing couple who's devotion to each other is something to be aspired to.
