Here is a list of the main characters on The Adventures of Sinbad along with some information about them.

Sinbad, the captain of the Nomad and the main character of the show, was played by Zen Gesner. His parents died when he was very young, so Sinbad was raised by his older brother Doubar and their tutor Dim-Dim. When he was a boy, his best friend was a girl named Lee, and they had plans to get married when they grew up. Those plans were for nothing however, as Lee fell off a cliff and died when she was being chased by some older boys. Sinbad did not know how to swim at that point and was unable to protect her. He vowed to become "master of the seven seas" and tame the very thing that took his love away from him. Sinbad became a great captain, and when he came back to his hometown of Baghdad years later, his fame helped him escape a death sentence and acquire a brand new ship to use on a rescue mission. When Dim-Dim was sent away, Sinbad and his crew set off on new adventures to try and get him back - all while trying to dodge Rumina and any other bad guys that got in their way. Throughout the course of the first season, we saw that Sinbad could do anything and everything, and perhaps his only flaw was that he was too nice. He would do anything to ensure the safety of his crew and to protect any innocent people from evil. He somewhat showed a darker side to his personality when he came face to face with the man responsible for Lee's death, but he let go of his wishes for revenge when he saw that the man had a family. |

Jacqueline Collen played Maeve, an apprentice sorceress. She was training under Dim-Dim on the Isle of Dawn when Sinbad came to collect his tutor for a mission, and she came along to continue her studies. When she was younger, her brother Dermott was turned into a hawk by Rumina, and Maeve promised to return him to his human form by defeating the other sorceress. When Dim-Dim disappeared, Maeve was allowed to stay on the Nomad and became a member of Sinbad's crew. She had a flirtatious relationship with the captain, though nothing really became of their playful banter except for one kiss. Perhaps the reason for this was Maeve's determination to stick to her mission of saving her brother. She probably did not want anything distracting her from her goal, especially since Rumina was much more powerful than her and she needed to continue to strengthen her magic skills. Maeve was never able to fulfill her promise to Dermott or see what might have been with Sinbad though, as she fell of the ship in the beginning of the second season - never to be heard from again. |

Sinbad's big brother Doubar was played by George Buza. Doubar was a fun loving guy with a big heart, and he could always bring a smile to his friends' faces. Even though Sinbad was his younger brother, Doubar never really held any resentment towards him. He was just happy that he was with his brother and could look out for him. Doubar's only real storyline of his own was near the end of the first season when they came upon the beautiful, but deadly, sorceress Alana. Doubar fell for her and would not listen to his friends warnings, so he was left heartbroken in the end. Doubar seemed like a big brother to not only Sinbad, but to everyone on the crew, and he would go out of his way to ensure their safety on every mission. |

Firouz, the absentminded inventor on Sinbad's crew, was played by Tim Progosh. Apparently, Sinbad and Firouz knew each other in the past and Sinbad believed that his knowledge and inventions would be of help on their rescue mission. Firouz proved that Sinbad was correct, and his inventions got them out of a bind too many times to count. Firouz seemed to feel a bit useless or at least under appreciated at some points though, and he was almost swayed to use his science for evil purposes in "King Firouz". Sinbad and the rest of his friends helped him realize that his place was on the crew and that they did appreciate his inventions, no matter how strange they may have sometimes been. |

Strong and silent Rongar was played by Oris Erhuero. He may not have been able to talk for he had his tongue cut out for not betraying his brothers (that is how he was introduced, no matter what new backstory they gave him in the second season), but Rongar was a loyal and dangerous crew member. Rongar came to be on Sinbad's crew because his best friend Mustapha thought he would be a valuable asset to their mission. On their way to rescue the princess however, Mustapha was hit by Admir's poisonous tail and died in Rongar's arms. Rongar stayed on as a valuable member of Sinbad's crew and proved that he could always be counted on to have his friends' backs in any situation. |

Julianne Morris played the beautiful but deadly sorceress Rumina. Rumina became Sinbad's greatest enemy after he beheaded her father Turok, but she had romantic feelings for him as well. While she wanted Sinbad dead for what he did to her father, Rumina also captured him at one point to be her husband. Sinbad always spurned her advances though, and that left her bitter and even more dangerous. However, when Rumina joined forces with the crew to defeat the Old Ones in "The Trickster", Sinbad was nothing but nice to her and proved that he had no ill will towards Rumina as a person. This probably did not sit well with Maeve though, as she wanted to destroy Rumina for what she did to her brother. At the end of the first season, after Rumina's greatest stand against Sinbad and his crew, she left her home on Skull Mountain and her father came back to life thanks to the devil Scratch. This set up a ton of potential storylines for the second season, but none were touched upon in the slightest, and Rumina and Turok were never mentioned again. |
